Photo Competition - About
The voting section for the photo competition is now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry to the competition and who voted in the users favourite photo poll. The winners of all the prizes are displayed here.
Do you enjoy taking photographs? Do you like a challenge? Would you like to help promote European aquaculture? If so, read on....
The Aquaculture Innovation Network is searching for photographs that communicate - that celebrate aquaculture innovation, reflect the connection with nature, reveal the character of the people who work in the industry, or the quality of the food that is produced. We are therefore running this photography competition to let you show off your talents and perhaps win one of the valuable prizes on offer.
The competition is open to amateur photographers resident in a European country. You don't need to work in the aquaculture industry. You can enter images for judging in the following categories:
- Aquaculture innovation
- Aquaculture and nature
- Aquaculture people
- Aquaculture produce
The closing date is 31 March 2006, but selected entries will be displayed on the website as they are received. Prizes for each category will be awarded by an international panel of judges, but there will also be a popular choice award for the photograph from all categories attracting the most votes. So visit the web site during April and May to cast your vote on the best image. A separate prize will also be awarded to the best photograph taken by someone under the age of 18.
You can upload your digital photographs directly to this website, or send us prints by post. See the following pages for details of the prizes on offer and the detailed rules. So, perfect excuse to get that camera out let your imagination run free and shoot some great photos!
